About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on and strategic Director of Marketing to take ownership of all marketing channels for Rare Days. This role requires developing and executing the strategy for our core channels, including email, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), as well as coordinating participation in industry events and trade shows. The ultimate goal of this role is to generate high quality leads for Rare Days.

Your primary role is to collaborate closely with the CEO and VP of Partnerships to align on strategic initiatives, and then drive their execution. You have a great sense of social media best practices and how founders and executives should be using these channels to amplify a business. You have an incredible eye for graphic design standards and a deep understanding of how to market software services. You also can effectively direct designers to create incredible, attention-grabbing content that demonstrate Rare Days’s high design and technical standards.

A significant component of this role involves leveraging Rare Days' partnerships with influential creators and brands. This includes deal-making, constructing compelling campaigns with these partners, and ensuring their successful delivery. This role requires you to be able to zoom in and out—from high-level strategy and budget management to day-to-day copywriting and social drafting.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive the Rare Days content strategy and oversee the execution of the content calendar, collaborating closely with the CEO and the wider team to ensure consistent posting, platform optimization, and content amplification.
  • Lead the strategic direction for all Rare Days marketing initiatives, partnering with the CEO and the VP of Partnerships to define goals and measure ROI.
  • Direct the creative development process, working with designers to produce high-impact visual assets optimized for key platforms including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and other emerging channels.
  • Own the copy and visual identity of the Rare Days website, ensuring it aligns with the overall brand strategy and drives conversion.
  • Serve as the steward of the Rare Days brand, ensuring all marketing materials and communications consistently reflect the core values and mission

What We’re Looking For
  • 6+ years of experience in high-growth startups, consulting, or fast-paced agency environments.
  • Exceptional written communication skills for all formats, including long-form content, marketing copy, and social media.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Deep understanding of current cultural trends and a native proficiency across major social media platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage and direct graphic design teams to ensure all marketing visuals are on-brand and representative of our work.
  • Proven ability to secure media coverage and pitch press for executive team appearances and marketing initiatives.

Compensation and benefits
  • Competitive salary ($100 - 150K CAD)
  • Growth-focused environment, with hands on mentorship from the CEO and VP of Partnerships
  • Generous paid time off for vacation, sick days, and personal time
  • Flexible working hours and a remote-first culture
  • Extended health care benefits for Canadian employees

As an organization headquartered in British Columbia, we’re required to post the salary range if the position to be filled locally. This range may be higher or lower for candidates based outside of BC, and actual pay will take into account the candidate’s experience and competencies.

Compensation

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
