Description

About Us
Rare Days is a multi-disciplinary digital product studio obsessed with helping creators and community-led organizations build lasting legacies. Since 2020, we’ve designed and built products at the intersection of content, community, and commerce — empowering creators and content-led businesses to turn their passion into sustainable platforms.

Our clients include world-renowned creators like Esther Perel and Sophia Amoruso, as well as household-name platforms pushing the boundaries of digital community and commerce.

We’re a remote-first team based in Canada, and are open to candidates located within 4 hours of the PST time zone. Preference will be given to Canadian applicants.

About the Role
We’re hiring a Product Design Director to lead one of our most important enterprise accounts — a long-term engagement with a global tech brand operating in the vacation rental and travel space.

This role is focused on modernizing the internal tools used by their operations, sales, and policy teams — complex enterprise platforms that support thousands of global employees. You’ll lead design strategy across multiple work streams, aligning internal stakeholders, and guiding our designers to deliver thoughtful, high-impact outcomes that simplify and streamline the experience.

If you thrive in ambiguity, know how to manage cross-functional politics, and can lead strategy on complex systems-level UX, this is your role.

Core Responsibilities
Stakeholder & Account Leadership
  • Act as the primary client lead across 3+ internal product teams within a global enterprise organization
  • Align product owners, operations leaders, and execs around design priorities and roadmaps
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to turn complex requirements into clear UX strategies
  • Build trusted relationships that create space for influence and simplification

Strategy & Direction
  • Lead discovery across multiple work streams — surfacing user needs, platform friction, and strategic gaps
  • Collaborate with stakeholders through changing priorities, guiding them toward clarity and actionable design outcomes as needs evolve
  • Define product and design strategies that improve usability and internal efficiency
  • Shape design systems, patterns, and UX standards that scale across internal platforms
  • Balance vision with delivery: knowing when to push, and when to simplify

Team Leadership
  • Provide structure, support, and creative direction to 3–4 designers working on the account
  • Review and guide work across all phases — from early flows to implementation polish
  • Set the tone for collaboration, quality, and proactive problem solving
  • Work closely with Rare Days leadership on delivery, team health, and client retention

What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of product design experience, with a strong focus on platform or systems work
  • Proven ability to lead UX strategy and cross-functional design across large, complex products
  • Experience designing internal tools or enterprise software (bonus: CRM, sales, or ops platforms)
  • Clear, confident communicator who can align multiple stakeholder levels
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading discovery
  • Thoughtful leadership style — builds trust, maintains high standards, and leads with empathy
  • Bonus: Experience in agency, consulting, or client-facing environments

Compensation and benefits
  • Competitive salary ($200–250k CAD depending on location and experience)
  • Unlimited paid time off for vacation, sick days, and personal time
  • Flexible working hours and a remote-first culture
  • Extended health care benefits for Canadian employees
  • A leadership role within a growing, collaborative product team

*As an organization headquartered in British Columbia, we’re required to post the salary range if the position to be filled locally. This range may be higher or lower for candidates based outside of BC, and actual pay will take into account the candidate’s experience and competencies.

Compensation

$200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
